Trying my hands on collecting Lego

Wussup Collectors!!

I've been getting a couple of Lego sets and minifigures from the popular Lego Minifigures series lately. Thought i'd share with you what i have acquired recently =)

From the pictures above, you can see:

Note
: click on the links above and you'll be redirected to my past articles featuring each item.

I've decided to collect the Lego City series, because they have awesome sets and they can get pretty close to real life. In Jakarta, Indonesia, Lego often are sold in discounted prices in malls and toy fairs. For the medium-to-large-sized boxes like the family home and the powerboat, sometimes the discount can bring a smile on a big kid's face =)

Hopefully there'll be more on sale in the future. Hopefully.. otherwise they can pretty expensive.

The Lego Minifigures are probably easiest and cheapest to collect from all, as it only features a minifigure in each packet. Lego's kind enough to give ample accessories to "decorate" each minifigure, depending on what you're getting. However not all accessories match all minifigure. For example, it wouldn't be nice to put on the gorilla head on a race car driver. But in the end it's up to every individual's taste =)

Below are what i have so far. They come from various series, and i started collecting them starting with Series 3. Some i got from the family home and the powerboat set.

That's it from me. Keep on collecting.

In2Deep Games Room - New Corner

Wussup Collectors!!

Due to recent and past collectible acquisitions, i have no choice but to expand my displays by making an extra room for them.

Lucky i found this plank-like table top from my old study desk that's still in okay condition and an ex-roadshow table from past exhibitions that i've done =)

Now, it looks like this..

Not bad right? Keep collecting until you need expanding =)

Slowly collecting Star Wars - The Clone Wars

Wussup collectors!!

Just wanna share with you some of my Star Wars - The Clone Wars items that i've recently gathered together. I recently decided to collect them, thanks to the excellent animated series. Below are some things that i already have in my collection..

I got the Spacesuit Obi-wan and Anakin Skywalker from Toyzone. Yoda and Ahsoka both acquired from Master Taste Soulta with Yoda's cannon from Saga Legends as a bonus =) All figures below are near-mint 2nd hand loose complete sets. Both sellers are recommended sellers.

Pay 1 for 2

There's this program from Toys City where you can get 2 figures for the price of one. In my opinion, it's just their way of clearing out old stocks. But i consider this to my advantage =)

I recently got myself a carded Admiral Yularen with Hologram and Holo-com Table (great for briefing scenes) and Jar Jar Binks with Jedi Robe. Naturally, i intended to buy Admiral Yularen, and i got the Jar Jar for free =)

Not too long ago, I also got myself carded Cad Bane and Hondo Ohnaka. Surprisingly, these excellent figures were in the Pay 1 for 2 section. I went to Toys City yesterday and they run out of Hondo figures, but there were still plenty of Cad Bane.

Another figure i've acquired that didn't fall under the Pay 1 for 2 was Child Boba Fett. This figure is still carded, don't know why but i don't feel like opening it soon..

Well that's it from me. I leave you with a briefing scene i made up, with the Holo-com Table as the centerpiece. I'll post more Clone Wars collectibles in future posts, promise =)

By the way, all sellers and shops mentioned here are in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Star Wars Clone Wars Anakin's Delta 2 Starfighter

Wussup collectors!!

Managed to get this from Hasbro/Newboy's booth at the last Battle of The Toys 2011 event for a really, really good price. Brand new old stock =)

Star Wars Clone Wars Anakin's Delta 2 Starfighter

I took the pic above from the WWW, sorry, coz i forgot to take shots of the box before posting this hahahahaha. But i assure you the rest is all my doing =)

After unboxing, below are what we would be getting from inside the box..

The manual

The Starfighter

The Starfighter can be split into two units, as below..

You'll get 3 missiles. We will be using Anakin himself and R4-P17 to demonstrate their fittings in the Starfighter. For the record, R4-P17 is Obi-wan's astromech droid and Anakin's should be R2-D2. All figures sold separately. D'oh!

Droid unit

Anakin's unit

Just my 2 cents.. better get an Anakin figure with fabric clothing rather than plastic clothing so he could sit better in the cockpit.

So there you have it. A worthy piece to add to your collection indeed. I leave you with one last look of the Starfighter, have fun and keep collecting =)

Hasbro Star Wars Original Trilogy Luke Skywalker (Handstand Version) and Yoda

Wussup collectors!!

Want to share with you what i got last week from my neighborhood toy store, Toyzone. I was browsing through the Star Wars section because the owner, Lord Riza, advised everyone on the Order 66 SITH blackberry group to come and check out some new items.

Well, Lord Riza delivered once again.. because i found this:

Hasbro Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection Luke Skywalker (Handstand Version)

..and i also found this loose set in near-mint condition, Hasbro Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection Yoda (Dagobah Training)

Why near-mint? Because it's missing the backpack that Luke can use to carry Yoda around in Dagobah while training to be a Jedi, just like in the scene.

To complete the Dagobah Training set, i'm missing the Spirit Obi-wan (2nd from left in image below) and the R2-D2 (far left). They all come with inter-connecting the Dagobah piece-of-land base you see in the image below, and i hear there's a Darth Vader with releasable head to reveal Luke's face. Creepy, i know.. but that was one of ESB's greatest scenes nonetheless.

Anyways, 2 out 4 figures to start with ain't bad =) So let's check out what i got..

Luke comes with a "handstand head" with hair facing down for that gravitational effect, and a set of handstand arms that can be exchanged with a regular head and a set of "backpacking arms". Besides those, the package also come with dagobah "land" base and a backpack strap.

Yoda comes with dagobah "land" base and cane. Originally it came with a backpack that Luke can use to carry Yoda around, but it's missing as i've explained above. If it wasn't missing, the backpack can be "attached" to Luke's backpack strap.

Check out the images below to see what i came up with after opening the package and connecting Luke's set with Yoda's..

Handstand version

Push-up version

Backpacking version

Surprisingly, the backpacking version is similar to a more realistic and more popular statue product from Sideshow.. naah, kidding. I'm really pushing this =D But see the picture below and you'll get my point.

So that's that. All those great poses from just two sets of figures. I leave you with one last pic of everything you see above, keep on collecting, and as Master Yoda would say: "Do or do not. There is no try".
