Henkei Optimus Prime X BTS Toy Command Base

'Ssup y'all..

Let's go back in time to the days of Magic VS Bird.. What did we get on TV? We got Battlestar Galactica, we got the A Team, we got The Masters of The Universe, we got GI Joe, and we got the Transformers cartoon series.

The latter nowadays would be called Transformers G1, or short for Generation One by TF toy collectors. I'm guessing on why it's called G1.. it's probably because this is the thing that started it all. Since then, the Transformers Universe have become unlimitedly vast. Just check out Seibertron.com for a more detailed and complete list of TF toy lines that is available on Earth from god knows when :)

It used to be so hard watching the G1 TV series back then. I remember i had a friend who went back and forth from Indo to the US for whatever reason and he would bring me back tapes of recorded TF episodes. Sounds easy right? WRONG. The tapes were VHS and Indonesia uses BETA!!! But not a problem, nowadays we can download from torrents.. I'm proud to say that i have downloaded the whole, complete Season 1 of Transformers G1 TV series *evil laughter*

20+ years later, I can now watch them on my iPhone.. no more cursing at VHS tapes that i can't watch hahahahahaha :)

The one thing that i remember most from this series was Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. In their war on earth against the evil Decepticons, Prime would lead his army of robots that can transform into cool cars. But none was cooler than Prime, as he could transform into a Mac truck with a trailer on his back. The magic words were "Autobots.. transform, and roll out!", followed by that trademarked "transforming" sound effect.

Don't ask me where that trailer came from. It just appeared out of thin air! In robot mode, it never showed up.. but it appears everywhere Prime transforms into a truck, whether in the jungle, at sea, or on the road. It just didn't make sense, but cool nonetheless. This truly "more than meets the eye" hehehehe :)

I don't follow the progress of TF toys other than the ones i know from G1, so i don't know much about the Alternator line, or even the recent Movie line. But i do know that Takara Tomy makes the best G1 toys line.. they're very close to the original G1 toys, with a modern twist (meaning: better quality and finish).

After some time of searching and hunting, i was finally able to put together my own version of the Optimus Prime Convoy. Of course, i could just buy the complete box set released by Hasbro, but it wouldn't have that thrill-of-the-hunt feeling.. and i'm sure most collectors would agree with me. Anyways, Convoy i think is the given name of the condition where Prime is in truck mode with the trailer. SO BEHOLD..

"Takara Tomy Henkei Optimus Prime and BTS Toy Command Base"

The Convoy pictured below is a combination of:
Takara Tomy Optimus Prime C-01
(bought from Toy-Card PIM)and BTS Toy Mobile Command Base BTS-01S (bought from a Multi Sale in Kelapa Gading).

CONVOY MODE

ROBOT MODE

BTS Toy Mobile Command Base BTS-01S with Rollout Drone

Trailer mode

Mobile Command Base mode

Fits Legends Class figures and Revoltech Transformers figures

Takara Tomy Optimus Prime C-01

Truck mode

Robot mode

Of course, it would be much easier to buy the 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime pictured below..

..but like i said, there's no thrill-of-the-hunt there :)

That's it from me this time, kindly wait for my next review. Until then, keep on collecting 'till your wife says "ENOUGH!!!" :)

SW POTF Imperial Speeder Bike

Hey there, back again sayin' wussup to all collectors!

Today we're reviewing what i consider as one of the Star Wars universe's coolest vehicle. It's up there with the Falcon, X-Wing, and the Tie Fighter (any model/type). So i was really happy to get this from Toyzone Shop, Jakarta. Even though the price is a bit steep, it was totally worth it. Plus, i never owned this as a kid so this is a whole new experience for me.. kind of like doing "it" for the first time hahahahahaha.

So what did i get? BEHOLD..

Star Wars Power Of The Force Imperial Speeder Bike (incl. exclusive Biker-Scout Stormtrooper)

Nice, right? Hell yeah! The 1st time i saw the speeder bike chase in the jungles of Endor in Episode VI, i was totally blown away by their appearances. Not to mention the Biker-Scout Stormtrooper.. totally different from regular Troopers and definitely cooler. The chase scene was like the sh1t back then, and i can't think of anything bad about it until now. The SFX was mind-blowing and became the standard of today.

See if you can remember these scenes..

Credits goes to Master Illustrator Ralph McQuarrie for illustrating this scene exceptionally well. Surprisingly, his idea and the realisation didn't go too far off.. in fact, it's frighteningly close. Check this out:

With such cool vehicles, it's too bad that the Empire got defeated by Ewoks :( I wish they wiped out the entire Ewok jungle-kingdom-thing so we don't have to see them or other movie spin-offs with them in it. But yeah.. history says differently, hahahahaha.

A'ight yo.. enough history lessons for today, let's get down to the product! Yayyy!

First things first, below's how the box looked like after purchase..

So what's inside the box? Let's find out together..

I get an exclusive Biker-Scout Stormtrooper and a mistery box. Before we get to the mistery box, let's get to the Trooper first..

As you can see, the standing position is a lot awkward.. i stood mine up with the help of Blu-tacks, as it would be impossible to stand this guy straight up without it. Turns out the Trooper was built like this because it wouldn't be possible to sit the normal ones on the Bike.

And now we move on to the mistery box. What's in it? Open Sesame!

In detail, this is what you'll get in this box:

1. Bike seat, which can "explode and rejects rider in battle!"
2. Steering device
3. The Bike's main parts (engine, landing gear, etc)
4. Decals
5. Biker-Scout Stormtrooper
6. Manual
7. Kenner catalogue

Quite a lot of items, and i especially liked this when i found out that some assembly is required. I just like getting my hands dirty :)

So let's build this thang!!!

First, grab parts (1) and (3) as pictured..

..and follow the images below to build the rest of it coz i'm too lazy to type hahahahaha.

So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Here's a final look at the finished product..

That's it from me, folks.. until then, keep on collecting till you feel like vomitting :)

Mustafar Final Duel Playset

Holla amigos!

First of all, congratulations to me!!! Why? Cos i just completed my law degree, that's why :) alhamdulillah, BIG thanks to my family in Jakarta and Surabaya for the major support since 2007.. i know i have been a pain to teach most of the time, but you all remained calm all the time. Hopefully i can put this new degree for good use.. for myself, family, future family, and country. Aamiin.

Anyway, this is me (circled) among some of my fellow academias. You can see the tension on some faces, and for good reasons too! we were about to be literally screwed by our academic counsellors hahahahahaha.

Praise Allah it all went well for me, i got the approvals to go ahead with minimum revisions, thanks to my mom and dad who are super lawyers. They DID help with my thesis :)

"Stop b1tch1n' and lets get to the toy review!", you say? Yes, i totally agree. Let's get to the fun stuff. With such an accomplishment, i've decided to reward myself hahahahahaha. BEHOLD..

REVENGE OF THE SITH MUSTAFAR FINAL DUEL PLAYSET (featuring Obi Wan and Darth Vader)!!!

I got this from Multi Toys, SuperMall Pakuwon, Surabaya, East Java. I've been eyeing this for quite some time everytime i went there to attend classes, but i didn't wanna buy it then because i felt like i haven't done anything to deserve such a monument. I first saw this at a friend's toy shop, and at that time i was shocked by the price.. it was twice the price than what i paid for in Surabaya. Maybe my friend's shop was a specialty shop, i don't know. But i got the same thing for much, much less hehehehehehe. And since i feel like i deserved it, so i got it :)

FYI it costs US$29,99 according to Rebelscum.com (
), so let's just leave it at that.

So what does a US$29,99 Star Wars item get me nowadays? Let's see the features..

According to Rebelscum.com, i get:
- Obi-Wan KEnobi figure
- Darth Vader figure
- Blasting Magma!
- Breakaway Platforms!
- Lava Flips Over!
- 2 Ropes
- 2 Battle Discs

It says all that? Not bad, Hasbro. Now let's get inside the box.. first glance, these are what's inside.

After taking it out one-by-one, below are the items that make up the playset:

1. 2x Breakaway Platforms
2. a. Gate top-part
b. 2x Magma balls stuff
3. 2x Battle Discs
4. a. Lava
b. Another lava that serves as the battle discs base
5. Part of the breakaway platforms
6. Top part of the volcano
7. Bottom part of the volcano
8. Obi Wan Kenobi
9. Darth Vader
10.Manual
11.Brochure

Sweet, a lot of things. So far i think i'm getting my money's worth. Let's assemble this!

First step
Take the bottom part of the volcano (7) and gate top-part (2a) and join them together as pictured..

Second step
Take the top part of the volcano (6) and join it together with the previously assembled bottom part (7 & 2a), by pressing it until it snaps (quite a scary process, the snap sound was loud and i was afraid i broke something).

Third step
The third step is to set up the lava (4a) and the other lava that serves as battle discs base (4b), as pictured.

The fourth step
Assemble together the two breakaway platforms (1) and the breakaway platform parts as pictured..

The fifth step
Join the two breakaway platforms (1) to the top part of the volcano (6). At the same time put the battle discs (3) on the lava that serves as battle discs base (4b), as pictured.

The sixth step
Place the two magma balls stuff (2) at the volcano mouth on the top part of the volcano (6), as pictured.

..and there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. A beautiful-yet-playful scene recreation of the Mustafar Final Duel. Here's a final look with Obi Wan and Darth Vader placed on the battle discs.

Hope you enjoyed the step-by-steps above. Hopefully you'll get one yourself in the near future coz it's really cool to have.. but you gotta earn it, though :)

Until then, keep collecting and enjoying your collection. I'm out.
